SUN VALLEY
Snow guns were blasting early Thursday morning as freezing temperatures descended on Bald and Dollar mountains at Sun Valley ski resort.
No, you can't go ski on it yet -- but Sun Valley marketing director Jack Sibbach says the freezing fluff is a step in the right direction.
"About 3 in the morning they started snowmaking," Sibbach said. "I'm looking out my window and I can see it."
Sibbach says Thursday's brief blast was simply a test of Sun Valley's equipment, but did add that crews will start making snow on the regular when temperatures allow.
Sun Valley reports that temperatures dropped to 17 degrees Wednesday night, but are expected to rise into the mid 60s Thursday. They say temps are expected in the freezing range again on Thursday and Friday nights.
Sun Valley's ski lifts are scheduled to open on November 22nd.
